Yamazaki Mazak will be exhibiting its new INTEGREX i-100 BARTAC ST multi-tasking machine, with the new SMOOTHX CNC, at Manufacturing and Engineering North East 2015.
The i-100ST is the latest addition to the INTEGREX range and features a large machining area with compact ergonomic design and highly accurate performance. It is capable of machining both round and prismatic workpieces from raw material with just one set up, one machine and one operator – DONE-IN-ONE.
Also featuring at the exhibition will be Mazak’s new – SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY – which is incorporated into the i-100ST. SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY incorporates MAZATROL SMOOTHX CNC alongside new machine hardware and servo systems to deliver an improved operator experience, faster machining times and further integrate CNC into the overall factory management system.
As with all Mazak technology, the new SMOOTHX is designed with ergonomic comfort of the operator. The operating panel boasts a 19 inch touch screen whilst the entire control is 36% smaller than its predecessor and can be rotated to suit the posture of the operator. The new ‘Quick MAZATROL’ interface also reduces the number of keystrokes to write a conversational program by 38% compared to its predecessor.
The control also features five new process home screens that present critical data in a single page view, whilst simplifying the key operational stages: from part programming, management of tool data and set-up, through to the actual machining cycle and machine maintenance. What’s more, the control features a range of new MAZATROL programming functions such as Intelligent Pocket Milling which can reduce machining time by up to 60% compared to conventional offset tool paths.
