Due to enter UK service in 2018 and with three variants of the aircraft in production, F-35 is the largest defence programme in the world with an estimated total value exceeding $1.5 trillion.
The programme is US lead with 8 International Participant Nations. It is important to the UK Industry employing around 25,000 people.
The lecture will provide an overview of the F-35 Lightning II aircraft and associated programme. This will include the background, current status and future plans for this platform.
