Marketing Executive

The international Yamazaki Mazak Corporation is the acknowledged world leader in CNC metal cutting machine tool technology. The European division employs 1000 people in 11 countries with both direct and agency/distributor sales channels.

The marketing function is high profile and influential within the European organisation. Reporting to the European Marketing Manager this position will work closely with our businesses in the UK and continental Europe.

The role provides a real opportunity for a ‘hands-on’ involvement across the full spectrum of marketing activities including:-

  • Delivering the company’s marketing strategy/ plan.
  • Developing and managing the communications (PR) and advertising plan 
  • Organising and project management of off-site exhibitions and internal customer sales promotions.
  • Developing digital marketing including social media activities. 
  • Creating both online and off-line direct marketing initiatives 
  • Managing agency partners across design/advertising, web, PR, exhibitions & events
  • Working with Product Managers to develop marketing ideas to ensure successful new product launches.
  • Analysing the market, including competitor intelligence, customer and market trends, market share and the effectiveness of the marketing strategy.

The successful applicant will have: 

  • A degree in marketing or an equivalent subject - essential
  • Minimum 4 years experience in marketing role – essential
  • Experience in working with design and digital agencies – essential
  • Previous knowledge of CMS, SEO  - essential 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills - essential
  • CRM knowledge and experience – desirable
  • Knowledge of foreign languages - desirable 
  • Ability to think innovatively whilst also having the capacity for detail and planning.

You will ideally be familiar with metal cutting technology. Your marketing experience will have included some time in the industrial sector. 

You will be comfortable working as part of an international team and be pragmatic and credible.

The Role

The purpose and remit of the CNC Machine Tool Service Engineer role:

  • Service and repair CNC Machines.
  • Work to schedules to ensure customer demands are met.
  • CNC fault diagnosis using PLC.
  • Provide customers with a first class service.
  • Ensure all activities are completed within Health and Safety guidelines.

The Candidate

The CNC Machine Tool Service Engineer experience and qualifications required:

  • Mechanical bias to take on Mechanical tasks as required and to have a good Electrical knowledge.
  • Highly motivated, proactive and innovative to help improve processes.
  • Clear communication at all levels of the customer organisation.
  • Ability to work under pressure but still work to very high standards.
  • Strong problem solving ability.
  • Flexible approach to a varied workload

Machining Supervisor

Machining Supervisor

The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all components are delivered on time and in full at the correct quality with the efficient, cost effective and timely planning in line with production schedules and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Setting weekly plans and targets to ensure the team meet the required daily output
  • Monitoring the forecast figures to anticipate stock shortages
  • Preparing material requirements
  • Report daily on any issues with regards to supplying parts either internally or externally
  • Monitor and control budgets
  • Monitoring production running processes
  • Liaising with internal customers
  • Managing all aspects of the SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People) daily responsibilities

Suitable candidates will have the following experience and knowledge:

  • An Engineering qualification to HND/Degree level
  • A Supervisory qualification to at least a level 3 standard
  • Proven track record in managing Machine Shops
  • High accuracy machining which will include Turning Centre, Machining Centre, and Grinding technology / methodology.
  • Process engineering / CNC programming / Mazatrol/Smooth control systems / Reading and understanding of component drawings.
  • Managing a three shift, seven day work pattern
  • Be an advocate of Six Sigma and Lean principles
  • Planning, improving, recording a team’s performance though visualisation and good communication techniques
  • Continuous improvement – leading and supporting a team to increase utilisation and performance
  • ‘Lights out’ and multi-machine manning
  • IT system based planning and measuring
  • Monitoring and controlling budgets
  • Recruitment

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Be a good communicator
  • Manage with integrity, awareness, teamwork, commitment, and passion
  • Have the ability to motivate, monitor and coach individuals
  • Have the aptitude to maintain daily activities
  • Attendance at regular meetings to give updates on relevant issues
  • Present formally to an audience of varying seniority
  • Management of all health and safety issues
  • Management of all required production processes.

The Role

The purpose and remit of the CNC Machine Tool Applications Engineer is to provide customers with optimum machining solutions, utilising the extensive Mazak product range.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Designing processes/methods
  • Preparing time studies
  • Machine demonstration/training
  • On site customer support
  • Working closely with the sales team
  • Delivering all aspects of turnkey projects


The Candidate

The position is Worcester based, although a degree of UK travel will be required.
The experience and qualifications required include:

  • Broad CNC machining experience.
  • Knowledge of multitasking technology and CAD/CAM.
  • Clear communication at all levels.
  • Strong problem solving ability, together with a flexible approach to a varied workload.
  • An engineering qualification to HNC/HND level desirable but not essential.
